Written Word Media has just published this completely fascinating look at recent trends among independent authors. I was particularly interested in the statistics regarding editing and how it correlates to sales. I would have loved to have seen analysis of how authors' expenditures on items like editing and cover art relate to their motivation. I have some assumptions, but we know what they say about those . . .
Watch for an upcoming blog post about editing costs and determining for yourself a) if you need it, and b) how much is realistic to pay.
